Moonlight, Maine

$900.00

24” x 12” encaustic on panel

I find night skies totally mesmerizing; they make me realize both how enormous and beautiful the universe is. One of my favorite sights is a full moon sending its light dancing across the water. Some moments are so beautiful I can’t help but paint them. Every time we get a night like this I thank my lucky stars we live in Maine, surrounded by so much beauty.

In this piece, I emphasized both the energy and color of the moon’s halo, as well as the light illuminating the edges of the trees and island and then dancing across the surface of the water.

This encaustic (molten, pigment beeswax with resin hardener) painting is on a 1” deep wooden panel. I painted the sides a translucent midnight blue, as shown in one of the photos. As with all my original paintings, this one is signed on the back so as not to distract from the painting.

Free shipping within the continental US is included in the price.
