24” x 24” encaustic on panel
Lily pond painting, with water lilies floating on a brilliant blue pond, and colorful reeds in the foreground. Ever since Claude Monet created his ongoing series of water lily paintings in his Japanese inspired water gardens at Giverny, artists have been inspired to offer their own interpretation of these floating, flowering plants. My water lily painting, inspired by a lily pond on the grounds of the Clark Art Institute, is created with layer upon layer of beeswax paint, and is rich in color and texture.
This is one of two 24” x 24” encaustic on panel paintings that I think would look great hung as a pair (or diptych, see photos). The diptych arrangement can be more interesting visually than a single panel, and allows for the painting to cover a slightly greater area of wall space. However, I’m offering them for sale individually in case you would only like one.
These paintings are on 1 1/2” deep museum birch panels, providing a polished, contemporary look that does not require framing (see side angle shot).
Each original painting is signed on the reverse, preserving the integrity of the composition while providing collectors with a lasting mark of authenticity.
Pricing includes free shipping within the continental US.
For all large paintings, I offer free delivery in the Boston and Portland/southern Maine area. You can see how the painting would look in your home, and I’ll help you hang the painting (if you’d like me to). If you aren’t happy with the painting for any reason, after seeing it in person, I will offer a full refund.
