A shimmering white and gold abstract painting with both 23K gold leaf and iridescent gold wax. I created this soothing abstract painting during a very turbulent time in the world. The calming white and shining gold combination expresses the duality of what I was personally experiencing while painting it: the desire for utter calm, alongside the need for some bright glimmers of hope. The painting that resulted from these emotions is titled Glimmers of Hope.
Note: WHile the gold wax and gold leaf have a slightly different warmth and sparkle, the gold is consistently shimmery throughout this piece, it is just very hard to capture this accurately with a camera.
The leading global color authority, Pantone, selected a warm white - Cloud Dancer - as its Color of the Year 2026. Pantone described this white as "a whisper of tranquility and peace in a noisy world." The Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute said:"The cacophony that surrounds us has become overwhelming, making it harder to hear the voices of our inner selves. A conscious statement of simplification, Cloud Dancer enhances our focus, providing release from the distraction of external influences." I find this white and gold painting very calming.
