This piece evokes the sense of anticipation as you approach the beach, and the feeling of the warm sand between your toes. This piece is loaded with texture. I applied the paint thickly with a palette knife, and then scraped away the paint in the dune grasses with a rubber pointed tool. (See the detail shot in the second photo.)
