Another Maine moon island painting, this one with with lots of turquoise blue highlights. Each star has a ring of turquoise blue, and the island is silhouetted in blue, which you can see a little better in the closeup shot. Hence the title, Blue Nigh
I’m packing up this sweet little anemone painting and sending it off to its new home today. It’s the only painting I’ve attempted so far with R&F’s encaustic impasto modeling wax, which proved a little challenging to work

Thrilled to have this piece selected for this year’s MassArt fundraising auction, to help raise funds for art students’ scholarships. The selection process is highly competitive, with 330 pieces selected from more than 1,550 applications.
Totality. I didn’t make it to northern Maine for 100% totality, but we were at 96% here. And what’s an artist’s imagination for, anyway? This painting is in encaustic, with shimmery gold highlights in @rfpaints ancient gold. . .
